Greek training programme of MEDinCHAMBERS supports the green and digital transition of TCLF SMEs

The Greek training programme of MEDinCHAMBERS, organised by CERTH, has launched a series of free online webinars and practical clinics designed to support Greek micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and intermediary actors in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear (TCLF) sector as they navigate the green, digital and circular transition.

The programme provides an accessible and practice-oriented learning pathway, connecting participants with MEDinCHAMBERS support services and resources while helping them translate sustainability, circularity and digital-transition concepts into actions relevant to their own businesses.

Delivered by Dr Fiori A. Zafeiropoulou, an expert with extensive experience in sustainability in the fashion industry, the programme combines four live webinars and two group clinics, complemented by practical micro-toolkits and curated resources. The sessions emphasise operational examples, practical tools, interactive polls and discussion, allowing participants to relate the topics covered to their own business challenges and identify achievable first steps towards transition.

The training programme complements the wider capacity-building activities of MEDinCHAMBERS, including the recent Bootcamp and Study Visits in Barcelona, where participants from six Mediterranean countries explored green and digital skills for the textile and clothing sector through workshops, company visits and peer exchange.

From sustainability concepts to practical business action

The training programme addresses four interconnected areas relevant to the green, circular and digital transition of TCLF MSMEs:

  • Sustainable and Circular Transition for TCLF MSMEs: introducing the changing sustainability landscape and helping companies identify realistic starting points for their transition.
  • Circular Manufacturing and Supply Chain Transition for MSMEs: exploring sourcing, manufacturing, material flows, logistics and opportunities to integrate circularity throughout the supply chain.
  • Transparency, Traceability, Certifications and DPP Readiness: helping businesses understand how to organise supplier, material and product information and prepare for evolving transparency and Digital Product Passport requirements.
  • Digital Tools, Circular Business Models and Practical Next Steps: examining how digital tools and circular business models can support business transformation and helping participants identify priorities for future action.

The two group clinics provide an additional space for participants to discuss practical questions and challenges from their own organisations. The first focuses on transition priorities, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics and supply-chain issues and takes place after the second webinar, while the second, scheduled after the fourth webinar, addresses traceability, certifications, digital tools, business models and practical next steps.
